Prepare for Winter Weather

This is our second reminder that we all should have taken precautionary measures to protect our homes and businesses plumbing from the freezing temperatures this winter. There are plenty of on line resources to guide you through this process or contact a plumber for advice. Next week we will experience several nights in the 20s which may lead to frozen and bursted pipes. Not only can this present problems for the individual but to your neighbors and the water system. Please become aware of the location of your shutoff valve and how to turn it off in the event of serious leak. As a last resort the water can be shut off at the meter by turning the raised valve portion 90 degrees by using an adjustable wrench or certain pliers.
