The Archibald Water System Inc, a non-profit member owned corporation, was created in 1983 by a small group of local citizens with assistance from a local engineering firm and a USDA Loan. Operations began in 1985. Initially, the system consisted of one well, an elevated tank and had about 800 members. Today, the system consist of 4 wells, 3 elevated tanks, a ground storage tank and serves about 1400 households from just south of Rayville In Richland parish, east of Boeuf River, south to the Goldmine community and a small portion of northwest Franklin parish.
